A hundred and twenty hex head bolts in six metric sizes, with matching nuts and washers, in a compartmented steel tray. The point of an assortment is that the size you need at nine on a Sunday is already in the drawer.
Sizes and counts are printed on the tray and listed in full below — this is not a mystery box weighted towards whatever was cheapest. The distribution is deliberately heavier in M6 and M8, because that is what most people actually reach for.
Clear zinc plate over medium-carbon steel. The plating is sacrificial: it protects the steel underneath until you scratch through it, which happens the first time you put a spanner on it. Indoors that is fine for years. Outdoors, buy the stainless.

- Bright clear zinc with a faint blue cast. Plating thickness varies slightly across a batch and some bolts show light witness marks from the plating rack — cosmetic, and normal for plated fasteners at this price.

Care
- Keep the tray dry. Zinc plate is not a rust-proof coating, it is a sacrificial one.
- A light wipe of machine oil on the threads before storing extends the life considerably in a damp shop.
- Chase a damaged thread with a die rather than forcing a nut over it.
Cautions
- Not rated for overhead lifting, rigging, towing, or any application where a failure drops a load on someone. Those need certified, individually traceable hardware and this is not that.
- Not structural. Do not use in load-bearing building work, vehicle suspension, brakes, or steering.
- No published proof load or torque spec is supplied with these, because they are a general-purpose assortment rather than a graded batch. If your application needs a number, buy graded fasteners with a certificate.
- Not for outdoor or marine use. Zinc plate will bloom white and then rust within a season outdoors — use the stainless socket caps instead.
