Eight combination wrenches, open jaw one end and twelve-point ring the other, in the sizes that cover most metric work. Drop-forged chrome-vanadium, heat treated, then satin chrome plated.

Forging is the part that matters. It aligns the steel's grain around the curve of the jaw instead of cutting across it, which is why a forged wrench eventually bends and a cast one shatters. You can see the forging flash line down the shank; it is left visible deliberately.

The ring end is offset fifteen degrees so it clears a surface, and the jaws are held to a tight tolerance so they grip the flats rather than the corners of a nut — which is what actually rounds fasteners.

The specification

Everything we know about this part, stated plainly — including what it is not rated for. The same record is printed on the card in the box.

Care

  • Wipe dry after use. Chrome plate resists rust well but the exposed steel at a chipped edge does not.
  • Pull a wrench, do not push it — a slipping wrench you are pushing puts your knuckles into the work.
  • Retire any wrench whose open jaw has visibly spread. It will round the next nut it touches.

Cautions

  • Not an impact tool. Do not hit a wrench with a hammer or extend it with a pipe — both are how a hardened tool cracks, and it cracks suddenly.
  • Not insulated. Not for live electrical work of any kind.
  • Not for use as a pry bar, a chisel or a drift.
  • Metric only. There are no imperial sizes in this set and a 13 mm is not a 1/2".
