An eight-pocket roll in oil-tanned full-grain hide, saddle-stitched with waxed linen thread and closed with a leather tie. Pockets are graduated so a set of wrenches sits without the big ones fouling the small ones.
Saddle stitch rather than machine stitch: two needles, one thread, each stitch locking independently. A machine lockstitch that breaks unzips along the seam; a saddle stitch that breaks stays put and loses one stitch. It is slower to make and it is why this costs what it does.
Full-grain, so the outer surface of the hide is intact rather than sanded and embossed. It carries the marks the animal had. It will scuff, and the scuffs burnish out under a thumb.

- Natural tan, unfinished beyond the tanning oils. Darkens with handling, permanently. Grain, healed scars and colour vary across the hide and between rolls — every roll is cut from a different part of a different skin.

- Hide tanned in the United States. Cut and hand-stitched in the United States.
Care
- Wipe with a dry cloth. Let mud dry, then brush it off.
- Re-oil once or twice a year with a neutral leather conditioner when the surface looks dry or pale at the folds.
- Roll it, do not fold it. A crease in oil-tanned leather is permanent.
- Dry it slowly and away from heat if it gets soaked.
Cautions
- Not waterproof. It sheds a shower; it does not survive being left out in rain.
- Never dry it near a heater, a radiator or in direct sun — the leather goes hard and cracks and will not come back.
- Do not use saddle soap, detergent or solvent on it. All three strip the tanning oils.
- Not for storing wet or oily tools long-term; the oil migrates into the leather and softens it.
