A three-part union in solid brass: two threaded halves and a knurled collar that draws them together onto a machined seat. A union exists so a run can be broken and remade without cutting anything, which matters the first time you need to take a section out.
The seat is machined, not gasketed — the two brass faces meet metal to metal at a shallow taper and seal on contact. That is why the faces must be clean, and why a scratch across a seat face means a new union rather than more tightening.

- Solid CZ121 brass, machined from bar. Unlacquered. Metal-to-metal taper seat, no gasket.

- Bright machined brass with fine knurling on the collar, darkening over weeks. Turning marks visible on the hex flats.

Care
- Keep both seat faces clean and unmarked. Wipe them before every remake.
- Tighten the collar by hand first to seat the faces squarely, then a spanner on the collar only — never on the body halves.
- PTFE tape on the pipe threads, never on the seat faces.
Cautions
- NOT rated or certified for potable drinking water. Workshop, display and low-pressure use only.
- Not for gas, steam, fuel, hydraulic or compressed-air lines.
- Not for buried or concealed runs — a union must remain accessible.
- Not to be tightened with a pipe wrench on the body; it deforms the hex and the seat together.
