A traditional four-arm bib tap in solid brass, with a 3/4" hose thread outlet and a rising-spindle valve with a replaceable washer. The four-arm handle exists because you can turn it with a wet hand, a gloved hand, or two fingers.
The washer is a standard size and can be replaced in about a minute with a spanner and a screwdriver, which is the entire argument for a valve of this design over a sealed cartridge one. A tap that drips is a five-cent part, not a new tap.

- Bright machined and lightly polished brass, darkening to warm brown outdoors within a few weeks. Faint casting texture on the underside of the body is normal.

Care
- Replace the washer at the first sign of a drip rather than tightening harder — over-tightening destroys the seat, and a destroyed seat means a new tap.
- Drain and isolate before the first hard frost. Water left in the body will freeze, expand and split the brass.
- PTFE tape on the inlet thread, three or four turns clockwise.
Cautions
- NOT rated or certified for potable drinking water. Garden, workshop and general outdoor use.
- Not frost-proof. It must be isolated and drained before freezing weather, or it will split.
- Not for gas, compressed air, or any pressurised system above normal mains water pressure.
- Does not include a backflow preventer. Where your local code requires one on a hose connection, fit one.
